Happy New Year, everyone!
2012 was a pretty good year for me. Blogging has opened up lots of great opportunities for me. Amazing opportunities, actually! I was featured in Company magazine - not once but twice! I was thrilled to be nominated for a Cosmo Blog Award and to have my photo taken by the talented Jackie Dixon for Timex. I got to work with some great brands including Warehouse, L.K. Bennett, Spartoo, Westfield, Next, 02, Bertie and French Connection. I'm a lucky girl!
And, on a personal level, being a bridesmaid for my BFF Mia and taking my love Aaron to Paris for his 30th were my two biggest highlights. And I strongly believe that 2013 will be even better for me!
I also got to go to the WGSN Global Fashion Awards, which is the first time I've ever been invited to an industry event like that. I worked a catwalk season at WGSN a couple of years ago and it was amazing to be invited through my own little blog. I wore an amazing Laundry dress kindly loaned to me by WishWantWear, a company I whole-heartedly recommend. Look at that dress! Can I make it a New Years Resolution to wear more beautiful dresses?
And, speaking of New Years Resolutions: is your resolution to start a blog? I was invited last month to give a talk at the Clothes Show with Echo Falls - and I spoke about blogging, of course!
All the great talks are available to watch on the Echo Falls YouTube and my talk 11 Reasons to Start a Blog is above. It was amazing to do it - I LOVE public speaking, haha! - and I've had some great feedback on Twitter from a couple of people who have actually been inspired to start blogging after my talk. That made me incredibly happy!
