A Dozen Dungarees #2

 

 

This is definitely the most childish outfit I've worn in a while... says the grown woman who is obsessed with a pair of dungarees! But somehow even the denim romper part of this outfit doesn't seem the most childish. The combination of patterns and colours and stripes makes me want to misbehave a lot. This outfit makes me impish! (I blame the outfit.)

 

 

 

This Tuesday I'm teaming my beloved Beyond Retro dunagrees with my favourite backpack, a brightly coloured necklace and the perfect Breton shirt. Boden very kindly gave me some vouchers and I hung onto them for ages - I admit it, I love to SAVOUR my vouchers! - and I finally chose this (and a playsuit I'll show you some other time.)

It's actually from the teen girl collection: I bought an extra large but definitely could have sized down to a large. Still, I like the real oversizedness of it and love how the stripes seem to go with rather a lot more than I first what have imagined. Can you believe that this is my first ever Breton tee? I must admit that I'm not usually one for the traditional staples but I love this!

This outfit made me pull the most dreadful faces like the naughtiest girl in school!

A Dozen Dungarees #1

 

 

I love it when blogs have a little regular feature that I can get excited about looking forward to like Ellie's Sunday Sellers, Gem's Tuesday Tips, Claire's Currently Coveting... you get the idea! Not forgetting perhaps my favourite: my dear friend Sarah's Friday Frocks which I absolutely adore (basically because she's a super cutie, right?)

So, in order to give Wolf Whistle a little theme once a week - and, I freely admit, to also try and ensure I don't fall into one of my silent periods again like the world's worst  fashion blogger -
I present to you...

A DOZEN DUNGAREES!

 

 

Actually, it's a slight misnomer because there is only one pair of dunagrees. These ones!

 

 

Cuuuuute, right? Perfect wash, perfect amount of oversizedness, perfectly comfortable... I'm kind of  REALLY in love with them.  They were from Beyond Retro and cost me the princely sum of 20 pounds. Each Tuesday for the next twelve weeks, as my little summer project, I'm going to style them in a different way... A dozen dungarees, see? I LOVE aliteration, you guys!

And another thing I love: MY NEW BLONDE HAIR. Look! I bleached it four times at home - yes, 4. I have tough hair! - and then total babe Sapphire rescued it from the most unflattering yellow ever to this lovely blonde.  She works in Brick Lane in London and I can't recommend her enough.

For someone who has always felt like a redhead, I've taken to blonde way more than I ever thought I would. And, for some bizarre reason, it's made me want to experiement with my hair more, hairstyle wise. Hence the straight blow dry for these pictures! Odd, huh? But I'm happy!

 

 

As this was the way I first wore my dunagrees - the very evening of the day I bought them! - I thought that this simple outfit should be DD#1. I love this look and I'm not entirely sure why.

Wolf Whistle x New Look

 

I think I write about New Look a lot but GUESS WHAT YOU GUUUYYYYSSS? I love New Look! So naturally I was super happy to be invited to their party celebrating their new show Style the Nation with T4.

I chatted and giggled and danced with a whole bunch of gorgeous people including Fiona,  Lucy, Isabelle, Jazmine, Abi, Sapphire, Gem, Lily, Lauren and Dil, Rachel, Sally & Ross, Cyrena... and probably more but I'm tired of linking. I drunk too much champagne and danced terribly = standard Amy behaviour!

A couple of days later it was time for the New Look Autumn/Winter press day. This was nice enough by itself but even better was the fact that Jackie Dixon of Show Me Your Wardrobe was taking photos of bloggers styled up in the forthcoming collection. I've been day-dreaming of having my photo taken by Jackie for so long that I couldn't resist, even if I am an awkward subject. It's testimony to her skill and sweetness that she got such nice shots of me!

This skirt is kind of insane: pearlescent palette sequins in a floaty cut. Kind of 90s and kind of too super girly for me! I toned it down with clumpy boots and an oversized clutch (obsessed at the moment) and added the PERFECT grey cable knit jumper that I stole from the menswear. Thanks, boys! (Seriously: I am buying this this autumn.)
