There is no more gothic ring than a Poison Ring. Call it a perfume ring or a locket ring if you want, but everyone knows that they were designed to secretly hold the poison you'd slip in your enemy's drink at the banquet. How deliciously Shakespearian!
Here are my favourite new and vintage ones from around the net.
If you really are planning on poisoning someone, perhaps this skull ring would be a nice tribute to your actions. (Well, I said nice. I guess I meant apt, or something.) The seller nicta10 has it up for Buy It Now price on Ebay.com is $33.99 in sizes 6.5 through to 13.5.
I'm really into the steampunk influenced jewellery by Janos Garba Varga in his Etsy shop, Blindspot. The ring below is actually a past work he did that I spotted on his Flickr stream, but he does custom orders so get in touch if you like it! I love how this is see through, turning the supposed secrecy of the poison ring on its head.
Cute, girly, floral - what's sweeter than a rose? (I am just setting myself up for a poison = thorn thing here. You know where I'm going, right?) This little lady is being sold here on Etsy for $75 by Ayala, who not only does a wide range of poison rings but also supplies solid perfumes to go in the compartment. How lovely.
Me and garish are chums, you know. I understand it, I feel like there are days when nothing else will do but garish. And that's where this ring would come in. Currently filled with max Factor Amber perfume, it looks to have quite a large compartment, which I like. I don't know what I want to carry around in there yet (it's not actually poison, don't worry.)
Anyway, this particular piece of glare is currently at $9.99 here on Ebay.com, being sold by LC's Attic store and ending on December 14th. I love it.
To do: find out what ring size I am so maybe I can stop looking at vintage ones on Ebay and Etsy and actually purchase one.
wow, i love the skull one!
