At 10am today, October 10th, Diesel's highly anticipated and limited-edition collection of Dirty Thirty Jeans will go on sale nationwide.
Daisy Lowe in her Dirty Thirtys.
The jeans, designed by creative director Wilbert Das, are to celebrate 30 years of the Italian company. They are available in both women's and men's styles, come in a strictly one-off "dirty wash" treatment and have cute embroidery down the side noting the key anniversary dates: 1978-2008.
There are only 30,000 pairs of Dirty Thirty's in the world - are you seeing a theme here? - and they each cost - yes, you guessed it - £30. That's a undeniably bargainous price for what is guaranteed to be a collectors piece!
Although the thought of buying into a little bit of limited-edition fashion history is tempting, I'll be keeping my pennies. But if you're going to be one of those hitting the stores in hopes, of getting your mitts on a pair, I'd advise you get there sharpish. Vogue.com reported on hysteria amongst fashion insiders all desperate to grab a pair!
Those quick off the mark may also get an extra treat. The jeans are just one part of a series of events and initiatives to thank the label's fan base and the first ten customers will also be lucky enough to participate in one of Diesel's xXx anniversary parties, which will take place in 17 cities around the globe on October 11. The London line-up looks amazing: Patrick Wolf, Wiley, The Cocknbull Kid, Mark Ronson and New Young Pony Club amongst many others. I wish I could go!
If you're not lucky enough to win one, you can also buy tickets for only £5 from Diesel stores - well, if there are any left, that is. Click through to the website for more details and for the store closest to you. But be quick!
